Windows Live Writer support in Orchard CMS Blogs
Another fantastic feature of the Orchard CMS is support for the XmlRcp specification, which means we are able to use Windows Live Writer for authoring our blog posts.
The set up is dead simple. From your Orchard Dashboard, go into the Configuration –> Features section.
1. Enable XmlRpc support, and Remote Blog Publishing inside your Orchard features:
Enabling these modules adds the necessary support for the XmlRpc protocol to your Orchard site.
2. Connect with Windows Live Writer:
Create a new Blog account inside Windows Live Writer, and choose the Other services option when prompted.
Enter the full URL to your Orchard blog, your Orchard user name and password. Then click next for Windows Live Writer to go off and auto-discover your blog and all its settings. You can also download a copy of your blog theme at this point too if that takes your fancy.
3. Start blogging!
You’re ready to start publishing content to your Orchard blog via Windows Live Writer.
